Both personally and as a director of TDS I have advocated the outlawing of discretionary dental indemnity.

Whilst it is good to read the passing of the first reading of the Bill in the House of Commons on 5/3/25 to make dental indemnity an all insurance product, it is equally frightening to read the backstory to this Bill.

Owners and Principal dentists, if you knowingly allow associates to work in your practices with membership of organisations that offer discretionary indemnity then you knowingly accept the risk.
